What is Chiropractic Care?

chiropractic care

Chiropractic care is a non-invasive way to manage pain and improve overall wellness. In chiropractics, the main focus is on the spine. The spine is connected to every part of the body via the nervous system, so pain and other problems can often be traced back to the spine. The chiropractor will determine the origin of the pain, and will then correct the issue directly where it came from. In most cases, this is done through gentle spinal adjustments and manipulations. Chiropractic care is never invasive and is completely drug-free. Chiropractors believe in healing the body naturally, and in helping the body use its own ability to heal without drugs or surgery.

What is a Chiropractic Care Plan Like?

At Downtown Broadway Chiropractic, chiropractic care plans are individually designed for every patient. Dr. Allen will get to know the patient to gain a complete understanding of their issues and concerns and will then create a treatment plan that allows for rapid relief and long-term wellness. There are 3 parts to a chiropractic care regimen for most people. Treatment begins with relief care, during which Dr. Allen will alleviate pain and other symptoms through adjustments where the problem originated. The second phase of chiropractic care is corrective care when the patient is out of pain and the appointments are less frequent. During corrective care, patients will typically learn strengthening exercises that help in the development of stronger core muscles to support the spine. During the final phase of chiropractic care, wellness care, the patient is healed. They will have regularly scheduled visits to help them enjoy the optimum spinal health long term.

How Long Does a Chiropractic Care Program Take?

It can vary widely, as it depends on the individual patient and their specific problems. Most people enjoy relief within a couple of months and are then able to begin corrective care to correct the problem for the long term. Many people find that regular chiropractic adjustments benefits their entire body, and will have a regular adjustment to help them stay at peak health.
